Authorship Criteria

The Jurnal Kajian dan Pengembangan Umat, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat, is committed to maintaining ethical standards, transparency, and accountability in scholarly publishing. Authorship must reflect a genuine and substantial intellectual contribution to the research and manuscript.

 

To qualify as an author, each individual must meet the following criteria:

1. Substantial Contribution: The author has made a significant intellectual contribution to the conception or design of the study; the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data; or the development of the research methodology.

2. Manuscript Preparation: The author has participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.

3. Final Approval: The author has reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript submitted for publication.

4. Accountability: The author agrees to be accountable for their own contributions and to help ensure that questions concerning the accuracy, integrity, or ethical conduct of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

All individuals listed as authors must satisfy all the criteria above. Those who contribute to the research but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately, with their consent.

 

Author Order and Corresponding Author

The order of authors should be determined collectively by all authors based on their respective contributions to the research and manuscript. The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the editorial office, coordinating the submission process, ensuring that all authors have approved the submitted manuscript, and facilitating communication among the authors during peer review and publication.

The corresponding author must ensure that all authors' names, affiliations, and contributions are accurately reported at submission.

 

Changes in Authorship

Any addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission must be justified in writing and approved by all authors involved, including any author being added or removed. Such changes are subject to approval by the journal editor.

 

Contributors and Acknowledgments

Individuals who provide technical assistance, administrative support, language editing, funding acquisition without substantial intellectual involvement, or other contributions that do not meet the authorship criteria should not be listed as authors solely on that basis. Their contributions may be acknowledged in the manuscript with their permission.

 

Plagiarism and Guest Authorship

The journal does not permit guest, honorary, or gift authorship. Individuals who have not made the required contributions must not be listed as authors. Likewise, individuals who meet the authorship criteria must not be omitted from the author list without appropriate justification and consent.

All authors are expected to uphold academic integrity, disclose relevant conflicts of interest, and comply with the journal's publication ethics policies.

By submitting a manuscript to the Jurnal Kajian dan Pengembangan Umat, all authors confirm that the authorship information is accurate, that the listed authors have approved the submitted version, and that they accept responsibility for the integrity of their contributions.
